Effective rescue capability is a critical requirement under the Confined Space Regulations 1997, which place a clear duty on organisations to ensure suitable and sufficient arrangements are in place for emergency situations. At Engenda Group, we go beyond compliance by equipping our teams and clients with the practical skills, confidence and competence needed to respond safely and effectively.
Our Rescue Training programme is a comprehensive, hands-on course designed to prepare operatives to carry out rescue operations in confined space environments. Delivered at our dedicated training facility, the course uses realistic training rigs and scenarios to replicate the challenges encountered on site, ensuring candidates develop both technical capability and situational awareness.
The programme incorporates both ECITB Confined Space Medium and High Risk training, alongside Engenda’s specialist rescue modules. Over four days, candidates are trained in:
Confined space legislation and safe systems of work
Permit-to-work systems and task briefing processes
Use of gas monitoring equipment and personal protective equipment
Pre-use checks and operation of breathing apparatus
Safe entry and exit techniques for medium and high-risk confined spaces
Practical rescue operations, including casualty recovery
Making the environment safe before, during and after a rescue
The course is highly practical, with a strong emphasis on realistic rescue scenarios, ensuring operatives are fully prepared to respond under pressure.
On successful completion of both written and practical assessments, candidates receive certification valid for three years.
By combining technical training with real-world application, Engenda Group ensures that organisations are not only compliant, but fully prepared to protect their people and respond effectively in the event of an incident.
